Advanced Training
The IFS Level 1 Training is a comprehensive training program of roughly 100 training hours. As clinical treatment, IFS has been rated effective for improving general functioning and well-being. Internal Family Systems is a unique and powerful way in which to learn about, trust, and love our parts and ourselves, as well as the parts and Self of others. Learning to practice IFS is a deeply engaged process and requires the IFS practitioner to be fully trained to ensure that the client of an IFS therapist is equipped to practice IFS safely and effectively. It is a highly sought-after and rigorous training program, that is only available for admittance via lottery due to high demand.

Expertise
My experience includes: practicing IFS with individual clients in private practice and residential treatment, leading IFS group therapy, being instructed by senior IFS therapists and trainers, and my own therapeutic work with an IFS Certified Therapist. In addition, my private practice work is supervised by Musenge Luchembe Hayslett, LMFT/LPC-MHSP who is a Level 3 IFS therapist. I am passionate about being a part of the IFS community and continue to seek out new and different experiences to support my growth and understanding of IFS. Addtionally, I have treated people with mild to severe symptoms that align with medical diagnoses such as substance use disorder, borderline personality disorder, general anxiety disorder, alcoholism, process addiction disorders, and major depressive disorder.

Thoughts on IFS
The founder of IFS, Dr. Richard Schwartz has a book on relationships called “You Are the one You’ve Been Waiting For” which highlights an important IFS theory: Even though we’ve been told to go find the answer in someone else or somewhere else, the truth is, we have the answers inside of us. Since a young age, many of us have created layers on top of who we are to protect ourselves from this wild world we live in. It’s my job to help guide you through these layers and ‘tease out’ which of these layers are no longer serving you.
For me, Internal Family Systems (IFS) is something I use in daily life AND the style of work I do with my clients. I have found it to be the most effective and comprehensive research-backed therapeutic treatment that is available for people today. I fell in love with IFS because it aligns so well with my belief that we are all so much more than the labels that are put on us by our families, friends, schools, jobs, and society/culture. IFS is the best way I have found for people to heal, grow, and find lasting change. My clients like it, I like it, and it changes people’s lives.
